 간결하게 씁시다. 

 영어로 글을 쓰는 것은 당연히 어렵습니다. 우리말로도 글을 쓰는 것은 쉽지 않습니다. 하물며 영어로 글을 쓰는 것이야 말할 것도 없죠.
 

 좋은 글이란 좋은 내용이 알맞은 형식에 담긴 것입니다. 아무리 내용이 좋아도, 어울리지 않는 형식을 취한 글은 실망스럽습니다. 또한 형식은 멋진데 내용이 좋지않은 글도 마찬가지로 실망스럽습니다. 그러므로, 좋은 글이 되기 위해서는, 우리가 쓰고 싶은 내용을 어울리는 틀에 담아야 합니다.

글을 쓰기 전에 다음 세 가지에 주의합시다.

 첫째, 우리는 노벨 문학상을 받기 위해 글을 쓰는 것이 아닙니다. 세계에서 가장 잘 된 글을 쓰려고 하지 맙시다. 솔직히 할 수도 없으니까요. 화려한 말이나 형형색색의 형용사는 뺍시다. 
 

 둘째, 문장은 가능한 한 간결하게 씁시다. 한 문장은 10단어 이내의 길이로 씁시다. 헤밍웨이는 간결하게 썼습니다. 노벨상도 탔고요.

셋째로, 우리가 쓰는 글은 주장을 담고 있어야 합니다. 그리고 반드시 그 주장을 입증할 적절한 증거를 제시해야 합니다.

이 세 가지가 우리의 글을 이끌어 줄 것입니다. 글을 간결하게 쓰도록 노력합시다.

English Writing is naturally difficult. Writing even in Korean is not easy, not to mention English.

 A good writing must have good contents in a good container. A writing can be disappointing, if the container is not appropriate, no matter how good the contents are. But it is also disappointing when a container is flashy without good contents. Therefore, to be a good writing, we should put what we want to say into an appropriate frame.

Keep in mind three things before we write.

 First, our writing doesn't need to win a Nobel literature prize. We don't have to make up the best writing in the world. Frankly, we can't. So, avoid colorful words and adjectives.
 

 Second, we should write sentences as simply as possible. A sentence should not go beyond the length of 10 words. Hemingway wrote simply, and he won the Nobel prize.

 Third, our writings should have a clear point. And we must have proper evidences to verify our point.

 These three things will guide us through our writings. We should try to write simply.
