오늘은 부사의 도치를 살펴보겠습니다. 

부사의 도치 정리

1. 규칙

부사나, 부사구가 의미를 강조하기 위해 문장 처음으로 나가면 어순이 ‘동사+주어’가 됩니다. (부사구는 보통 ‘전치사+명사’의 형태를 취하고 동사나 형용사, 부사를 수식합니다)

 

2. 도치 어순

(1) 일반 부사의 도치

일반 부사나 부사구가 문장 처음으로 갈 때는 동사를 주어 앞으로 보내면 됩니다.

ex) The snow fell down.

 ⇒ Down fell the snow.

 

(2) 부정부사 (not, never, rarely, scarely) 도치

조동사 do를 인칭과 시제에 맞게 대신 보낸다. 어순은 '조동사 주어 동사원형‘이 됩니다.

ex) It rarely rains in the desert.

⇒ Rarely does it rain in the desert.

※ 다음 밑줄 친 부분을 도치형태로 바꾸시오.

1. The bombs are under the table.

⇒ Under the table are the bombs.

 

2. The vase is next to the window.

⇒ Next to the window is the vase.

 

3. A bullet passed right over his head.

⇒ Right over his head passed a bullet.

 

4. We never saw him again.

⇒ Never did we see him again.

 

5. I never expected that she would help me.

⇒ Never did I expect that she would help me.
