3. 명사 상당어구들

 
영어에서 주어역할을 할 수 있는 말들은 다음과 같습니다.

(1) 명사(구)

(2) 대명사

(3) To 부정사

(4) 동명사

(5) 명사절

   1. That

   2. wh-

   3. whether 

 실제 문장에서는 위 명사어구들이 단일하게 쓰이기보다는 수식어구와 결합되어 사용됩니다. 이러한 수식어구 때문에 문장이 복잡해집니다. 하지만 핵심주어 역할을 할 수 있는 말들은 위에 있는 5가지 명사어구들 뿐입니다. 

 

다음에서 각각의 예문을 간략하게 살펴봅시다.

(1) 명사주어 

  Democracy should allow every citizen to access the political process.

(2) 대명사주어

  Democracy, it should allow every citizen to access the political process.

(3) to 부정사 주어

  To allow every citizen to access the political process is the goal of democracy.

(4) 동명사 주어

  Allowing every citizen to access the political process is the goal of democracy.

(5) 번 명사절 주어는 지면 관계상 다음에 설명하겠습니다.
